iSightCornwall launches new Low Vision Clinic
A new Low Vision clinic has been launched in Camborne and the first session has already proved to be a big success.
The clinics will be taking place in Camborne Specsavers once a month and will be open to locals with a referral from their optician.
Low Vision Advisor, Louise Menhenott will be leading the clinic and can help with a wide range of magnifiers and advice.
Louise said: “We have decided to start the clinic in Camborne after receiving a large number of referrals from the area. We had feedback from lots of clients who live near Camborne including areas like Redruth which said they would find it easier to get to Camborne rather than our Sight Centre in Truro and as a charity we always try our best to get to as many people as possible.
Camborne Specsavers
“I approached the team in Camborne Specsavers as they had been kind enough to host a clinic there before the pandemic and they were happy to get on board. I know the team there very well and the manager Jo Palmer as well as her staff were brilliant in helping us set this up.”
The first clinic took place in the first week of November and every slot was filled.
Louise said: “The first session went really well, the clients were all very happy and it flowed nicely. It was fantastic to be able to get into another local community to help people.”
