As we near our 160th year an opportunity has arisen to be an integral part of the ongoing success of the oldest and most historic charity in Cornwall. In order to drive forward the new and dynamic aspirations of iSightCornwall the Board of Trustees have created an opening for a specialist Finance Trustee. Our new specialist Finance Trustee will be able to advise and contribute in the following areas:
- understanding and adding value to the bi-monthly Finance and General Purposes committee meeting
- read and interpret income and expenditure accounts and the balance sheet
- advising the CEO and chair of trustees in all finance matters
- advising the charity’s finance manager and clerk
- understanding of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) and developments in that area
- understanding of financial risk and review the risk analysis document regularly with trustees
- an appreciation of investment management and analysis and be the trustee link to the charity’s investment advisers
- an appreciation of insurance matters and be able to advise or signpost as required
- the Board of Trustee/Directors meet bi-monthly on the last Monday of the month.
