Melissa’s Paralympic Coach and Training Partner
Melissa Reid is a paratriathlete from Cornwall who won a bronze medal at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio. Melissa received funding for a coach and training partner through Legacy gifts in order to help her continue competing at the highest level in her sport.
“My discipline includes swimming, cycling and running. It is essential that I have a coach and training partner to support me in my training programme as I’m not always able to train by myself. It gives me the same opportunities as everyone else has who has full vision. Having someone to train with makes it much easier to perform at a higher standard as they give me the support, advice, and motivation I need.
I hope I can show that it doesn’t matter what level of vision you have, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
