Craig tackles John O’Groats to Land’s End charity cycle

Craig Hancock today took the first steps on his gruelling John O’Groats to Land’s End cycle challenge in aid of iSightCornwall.

Both of Craig’s children, Harry and Lottie, have the condition Nystagmus which causes involuntary (or voluntary, in rare cases) movement of the eyes. The movements usually side to side but can also be up and down or in a circular motion. The majority of people with the condition also experience reduced vision. Harry was recently awarded an electronic magnifier through the Inspiring Futures Fund to help him with his school work.

“iSightCornwall has supported my family so much so I wanted to give something back with a bike challenge,” said Craig, “I am being supported by leisure and bike chain, ‘Ricci‘, and am feeling excited and nervous but I’m training hard and looking forward to it”.

Lands End to John O’Groats is one of the most challenging endurance rides you can do.  It spans the length of mainland UK from the stunning countryside of northern Scotland to the stunning beaches of Cornwall. The traditional distance takes most cyclists 10 to 14 days to complete.
