The Truro branch of Boots Opticians who recently received the prestigious ‘Multiple Practice of the Year’ award has teamed up with Helping Hands and Pans, a group of experienced chefs and restaurant workers from Rick Stein’s restaurants to host a 4-course, Thai influenced, charity dinner in aid of iSightCornwall.

The event will be taking place from 7:00 pm on Wednesday 26 September at the Old Ale House in Truro and will feature a raffle to win a number of fantastic prizes generously donated by local organisations.

On arrival

CHICKEN LAARB

A classic Thai appetizer, finely diced chicken, lemongrass, chillies, dry fried with a tangy sauce served in a little gem leaf.

Starter

COD AND SMOKED HADDOCK FISHCAKES

With a pea and mint puree and tartare sauce.

Main

PAN FRIED CORNISH HAKE FILLET

Lightly spiced egg noodles, bok choy, crispy fried basil, cashew nuts, shallots, garlic with a sweet chilli sauce.

Dessert

CHOCOLATE AND RASPBERRY OPERA GATEAU

Vanilla sponge with chocolate and raspberry layers and a dark chocolate sauce.

  • The chefs are happy to cater for any allergies, please state any allergies when purchasing the tickets as due to the nature of this one off event the chefs are unable to change the menu on the night
