As you may be aware, the majority of shops are allowed to reopen today [Monday 15 June]. However we’re making essential changes to the Sight Centre to create more space for clients and allow for safe social distancing, therefore the building will remain closed until at least the end of July.

But that doesn’t mean that you can’t access our vital services. Throughout the lockdown our aim has been to rise to the challenge and invent new remote ways of working to help people with advice and equipment and to stay safe and feel connected.

Our specialist eye clinic liaison and low vision services are being delivered by telephone, so people can continue to access practical and emotional support about their eye condition as well as replacement magnifiers and other low vision aids.

We’ve also launched a brand new telephone befriending service, and our online shop has remained open offering aids designed to support people living with sight loss. For those who cannot access our online shop, we have also been taking shop orders over the telephone too.

We are doing all we can to reopen The Sight Centre safely as soon as possible. In the meantime staff are continuing to work from home, answering calls daily between 9am and 4.30pm. This means anyone can call the usual number 01872 261110 to receive the help they need.
