On 24th August, Truro Golf Club hosted an exciting Captain’s Day in aid of iSightCornwall, named as the golf club Captain’s Charity of the Year. A fantastic donation of over £3,000 was raised to enable the charity to continue its work supporting those living with visual impairments.
The sun was shining down on the course as 28 teams of 4 teed off in the morning. All golfing teams scored brilliantly, but 4 teams drew scores of 88 points.
After the match, the day continued on to an auction where various items were bid upon by the guests. Items included a glorious oil painting of Hayle Lighthouse donated by a local art society. Concluding the event was a wonderful meal and talk by iSightCornwall’s Chief of Operations, Carole Theobald, who discussed how the charity supports those in Cornwall living with visual impairment.
The charity thanks everyone at the golf club and all the guests that attended the event, as well as all the businesses that provided prizes for the auction.
