The new Bank of England £5 notes came into circulation at the beginning of this month and if you are lucky you may already have one!
There are many ways in which you can choose to spend the note however John Thompson (@JTCHANGINGBIZ) had the fantastic idea of asking Twitter users if they would be willing to donate their first £5 note to a charity of their choice.
I’ll donate the first new five pound note I get to a charity. Will you?

John’s idea quickly caught on, and since then people have been sharing their choice of organisation using the hashtag #FirstFiver
I will be donating my first #newfiver to @childsi – what will you do with yours? #fivergiver #firstfiver pic.twitter.com/qAGo0hEzzT

When I finally get the new £5 note, I’ll buy a coffee and a sandwich for a homeless person with it. #FiverGiver

We think this is a fantastic idea! If you would like to help change the lives of all those in Cornwall living with sight loss then please consider donating your #FirstFiver to iSightCornwall!
