Our Communications Officer, Sally, is running the Virgin Money London Marathon 2016 on the 24th April raising funds for the visually impaired in Cornwall. Sally has worked for iSightCornwall for one year and within the first few days of being here she was signed up to take part in the 26.2 mile challenge.

Leading an active life is one of our motto’s and Sally is certainly living and breathing this motto through her training. She says, “I’ve always enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking in the mountains and coastal walks. I’ve never taken part in a long road race before so this a really big challenge for me. I try to get out three times a week – I’m not up to 10 miles yet so I’ve still got a long way to go!”

She adds, “I am very excited about the marathon day itself, my family and friends promise to cheer me on, I hope the spirit of the day gets me through, also knowing too that the money I’m raising will support people living with sight loss in Cornwall will keep me going.”

This year someone will be the Virgin Money London Marathon’s one millionth runner… we hope it’s Sally! If you would like to pledge a sponsor please visit Just Giving
